MIL "ON" DTC P2440/P2442 (T-SB-0033-12)

Some 2012 model year Sequoia and Tundra vehicles with the 3UR-FE/FBE (5.7 L) engine may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2440/P2442 (Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve Stuck Open Bank 1/Bank 2) under freezing ambient conditions. The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been revised to address this condition.

Radiator & Horn Mounts Cracking (T-SB-0032-12)

Some 2007 – 2012 model year Tundra vehicles may exhibit a condition where cracking develops around the horn and/or radiator mounting locations on the core support. This may occur under continuous or frequent off highway driving conditions. Support brackets have been developed to reinforce the horn and radiator mounting location areas and address this condition.

ABS and VSC Warning Light "ON" Due to Open Circuit in Rear Wheel Speed Sensor (T-SB-0031-12)

Some AWD 2009-2011 model year Venza vehicles may exhibit a ABS/VSC warning light “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C1332 and/or C1333 (right/left rear speed sensor circuit).

DRLs Turn Off When Changing "Headlamp Auto Off Timer" Setting (T-SB-0018-12)

Some 2011 model year Sequoia vehicles equipped with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) may exhibit a condition where the DRLs will no longer activate after changing the “Headlamp Auto Off Timer” setting.

MIL "ON" P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402, & P2419 Due to Water Intrusion into Charcoal Canister (T-SB-0016-12)

Some 2007-2011 model year Yaris sedan vehicles may experience a MIL “ON” condition with DTCs P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402 and P2419 present. This can be caused by water or debris entry into the evaporative control system through the fresh air inlet. To address this condition, a fuel pipe protector has been created to help prevent water intrusion into the fuel filler pipe cover.

MIL "ON" DTC P030# after Cold Soak (T-SB-0010-12)

Some 2010 – 2011 model year Prius vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following conditions at initial engine start after cold soak in temperatures below 40F (4.5C):
• MIL “ON” with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303. and/or P0304.
• Initially runs rough.
• Loud engine knock or rattle noise.

Automatic Climate Control HVAC Odor (T-SB-0009-12)

2007 – 2011 Camry Under certain temperature conditions, some vehicles may exhibit a condition of an unpleasant odor coming from the face level HVAC vents during the initial 10-30 seconds of HVAC system operation. An HVAC Amplifier is now available with updated logic that will direct air away from the face level vents under certain temperature conditions during the first 10-30 seconds of HVAC operation.
This TSB does NOT apply if the vehicle exhibits the following conditions:
• The vehicle has manual climate control.
• The unpleasant odor continues after the initial 10-30 seconds of HVAC system operation.
• The unpleasant odor does not begin immediately after the HVAC system is turned ON.
• The unpleasant odor is present with the HVAC system OFF.

Water Leak At Back Door Hatch (T-SB-0008-12)

Some 2001 - 2007 model year Highlander / Highlander HV vehicles may exhibit water intrusion into the rear of the vehicle due to a cracked body seam sealer just above the back door stay mount area.

MIL "ON" DTC P030# at Cold Startup (T-SB-0210-11)

Some 2008 – 2010 model year Highlander HV vehicles may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with one or more engine misfire DTCs P0300 – P0306 present. The stored DTC(s) would be detected during the initial 45 seconds of engine run time following a cold soak. The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE: term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring.

Vibration from Engine after Cold Soak (T-SB-0204-11)

Some 2010 – 2011 model year Prius vehicles may experience an abnormal vibration or droning noise with the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) ON after extended cold soak in extremely low temperature conditions until the engine bay begins to warm up. The right rear engine mount has been updated to address this condition.

MIL "ON" DTC P011B with Block Heater Installed on 2TR-FE Engine (T-SB-0202-11)

Some 2007 – 2010 model year Tacoma vehicles equipped with a block heater may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with DTC P011B (Engine Coolant Temperature / Intake Air Temperature Correlation) after the vehicle cold soaks with block heater use. The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been modified to address this condition.

Oil Cooler Pipe Seep (T-SB-0201-11)

Some vehicles equipped with 2GR-FE/FXE towing package engines may exhibit an oil seep from the engine oil cooler pipes.

MIL "ON" P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402, & P2419 Due to Water Intrusion into Charcoal Canister(T-SB-0200-11)

Some 2009 – 2011 model year Corolla and Matrix vehicles may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with the DTCs P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402, and P2419. MIL "ON" DTC P0456(T-SB-0199-11)

Some 2009 – 2011 model year RAV4 vehicles equipped with 2AR-FE engines may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0456 – Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (Very Small Leak). The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring.

HV Battery Cooling Fan Maintenance for Severe Usage Vehicles (T-SB-0198-11)

2010 – 2012 Prius vehicles that are used under certain severe operating conditions, the HV Battery Cooling Fan may experience an excessive buildup of dust, lint, or other debris that can reduce the efficiency of the HV Battery Cooling System. HV Battery Cooling Fan maintenance and cleaning should be performed to address this condition.

Mobility Seat Inoperative Due to Spacer Interference (T-SB-0192-11)

Some 2011 Sienna vehicles with the factory mobility seat option may exhibit a condition where the seat slide function becomes inoperative due to plastic spacer interference in the slide mechanism. A new spacer has been developed to address this condition.

Tailgate Functions Inoperative (T-SB-0189-11)

Some 2010-2011 model year 4Runner vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following conditions. These may appear intermittently.
• Rear wiper inoperative
• Rear defogger inoperative
• Rear tailgate power window inoperative
• Unable to open the rear hatch
• Interior lights mounted in the tailgate inoperative
• DTC 1287 Back Door ECU Communication Stop may be stored These conditions may be caused by an open circuit in the tailgate harness. The tailgate harness sheathing has been lengthened to address these conditions.

Headlamp Condensation (T-SB-0188-11)

Some 2007-2009 model year Prius vehicles may have an appearance issue and exhibit excessive condensation or moisture on the interior of the headlamp(s).

Deck Side Panel Rattle (T-SB-0183-11)

Some 2005 – 2007 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a squeak/rattle noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. This may be caused by a crack in the front lower section of the wheel house panel sub-assembly. The crack may be behind the body rocker molding on X-Runner vehicles.

HID Headlamp Abnormal Operation (T-SB-0182-11)

Some Limited model Sienna vehicles equipped with HID headlamps may intermittently exhibit a condition when starting the vehicle where either the left side or right side headlamp may not illuminate. The headlight will illuminate, however, if the headlight is cycled off then on. An updated repair procedure is available to address this condition for vehicles built prior to the
production change.

Rear Window Glass Interior Surface Fogging (T-SB-0181-11)

Some 2011 Avalon vehicles may exhibit a fogging or hazing on the interior surface of the rear window glass. A new rear package tray trim assembly has been developed to address this condition.

MIL "ON" P0717 (T-SB-0180-11)

Some 2009-2011 model year Corolla and Matrix vehicles equipped with the 2ZR-FE engine and U341E automatic transaxle may exhibit a MIL "ON" condition with DTC P0717 (turbine speed sensor circuit no signal) stored. The cause this MIL "ON" condition may be due to rodent damage to the NC circuit harness near the sensor connector. A harness repair kit has been developed to simplify the repair and improvements have been developed and implemented in production to prevent rodent damage from occurring.

MIL "ON" P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402 & P2419 (T-SB-0178-11)

Some 2007 – 2011 model year Tundra vehicles may exhibit a MIL "ON" condition with DTCs P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402 and P2419. This condition can be caused by water or debris entry into the evaporative control system through the fresh air inlet. To address this condition, the fuel tank filler pipe has been revised to help prevent water intrusion.

MIL "ON" DTC P0456 (T-SB-0175-11)

Some 2007 – 2009 model year Camry vehicles with a 2AZ-FE engine may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0456 – Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (Very Small Leak). The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring.

MIL "ON" DTC P0116 (T-SB-0172-11)

Some 2006 – 2008 model year RAV4 vehicles equipped with 2AZ-FE engines may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0116 – Engine Coolant Temperature Range/Performance Problem. The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrainc ControlModule/PCM) logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring.

Security Alarm False Activation (T-SB-0171-11)

Some 2011 Siennas equipped with a factory theft deterrent system may exhibit a condition where the security horn is inappropriately triggered when the vehicle has not been disturbed. A revised hood latch assembly (with internal component switch) has been made available to address this condition.

MIL "ON" DTC P0456 (T-SB-0170-11)

Some 2006 – 2008 model year RAV4 vehicles equipped with 2AZ-FE engines may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0456 – Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (Very Small Leak). The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain ControlModule/PCM) logic has been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring.

Dust from HVAC Vents (T-SB-0163-11)

Some vehicles may exhibit a condition where dust or powder is visible from the HVAC vents. A newly designed evaporator and HVAC system cleaning procedure has been developed to address this condition.

Abnormal Blower Motor Noise (T-SB-0162-11)

Some 2005 – 2011 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit abnormal noises such as a ticking/clicking noise or squeal noise from the blower motor. An updated blower motor is available to address this condition.

MIL "ON" DTC P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402, P2419 (T-SB-0161-11)

Some 2006 – 2011 model year RAV4 vehicles may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P043E, P043F, P2401, and P2419 stored in the Engine Control Module or ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) due to water in the EVAP system.

Secondary Air Injection System - Water Intrusion: MIL "ON" DTC P0418, P0419, and/or P244# (T-SB-0160-11)

Some 2008 – 2011 model year Sequoia and 2007 – 2011 model year Tundra vehicles may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0418, P0419, P2440, P2441, P2442, P2443,P2445, and/or P2447. This condition may be caused by water intrusion into the air injection pump assemblies.

3rd Row Manual Seat Rattle Noise (T-SB-0157-11)

Some 2011 model year Sienna vehicles may exhibit a condition where the 3rd row manual seats rattle while driving. The noise has been most apparent under cold weather conditions with no occupants in the seats. A new rubber bump stop has been developed to address this condition

Lost Keys / Immobilizer ECU Replacement (T-SB-0029-11)

The transponder ECU on some 2010 model year FJ Cruiser vehicles does not support key code erasure in the event that all master keys are lost. These transponder ECUs also do not support the "reseed" function. If all registered master keys are lost, then the transponder ECU must be replaced.

MIL "ON" DTC P2420 (T-SB-0028-11)

Some 2009 – 2010 model year Japan built Toyota vehicles may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2420 (Evaporative Emission System Switching Valve Control Circuit High) present. The charcoal canister has been updated to address this condition.

MIL "ON" DTC P1423 or Fuel Cap Binding (T-SB-0027-11)

Some 2008 – 2011 model year Highlander HV vehicles may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1423, or fuel cap binding upon installation or removal condition.

Fluid Leaking From Accessory Meter (T-SB-0026-11)

Some customers with 2007 – 2009 model year FJ Cruiser vehicles may experience a fluid leak from the Accessory Meter Assembly on the dashboard. An improved Accessory Meter Assembly is available to address this condition.

MIL "ON" P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402, & P2419 Due to Water Intrusion into Charcoal Canister (T-SB-0024-11)

Some 2007 – 2011 model year Yaris hatchback vehicles may experience a MIL “ON” condition with DTCs P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402 and P2419. This can be caused by water or debris entry into the evaporative control system through the fresh air inlet. To address this condition, a fuel pipe protector has been created to help prevent water intrusion into the fuel filler pipe cover.

Door Trim Panel Rattle (T-SB-0023-11)

Some 2007 – 2011 model year North American Produced (NAP) Camry and Camry HV vehicles may exhibit a rattle noise from the left or right front doors or door panel area. This may be due to a loose plastic cover on the door panel energy absorption pad.

Exterior Rear View Mirror Vibration (T-SB-0017-11)

Some Land Cruiser vehicles may exhibit a condition where the exterior rear view mirror vibrates while driving. A bolt set has been developed to change this condition.

MIL "ON" and/or Rattle Noise from Engine (2AR) (T-SB-0012-11)

Some 2010 – 2011 model year Camry and 2009 – 2011 model year RAV4 vehicles equipped with the 2AR-FE engine may exhibit one or more of the following conditions:
• MIL “ON” with DTC P0015 and/or P0017 setting
• P0015 — Camshaft position “B” – Timing over-retarded (Bank 1)
• P0017 — Crankshaft position – Camshaft position correlation (Bank 1 Sensor B)
• Rattle noise from the engine

Compass Displays Incorrect Heading after Calibration (T-SB-0011-11)

Some 2011 model year Avalon and Tundra vehicles equipped with a combination rear view mirror/monitor/compass may stop indicating the correct compass heading direction even after calibration.

Front Side Window Glass Rattle Noise (T-SB-0010-11)

Some 2008 – 2010 model year Highlander and Highlander HV vehicles may exhibit a rattle, pop, or click noise when operating the driver or passenger front window glass. In some cases, the front window may be found inoperative. This may be due to the window mounting tabs being damaged.

Spring Bumper Knocking Noise (T-SB-0009-11)

Some North American Produced (NAP) 2009 – 2011 model year Avalon, Camry, Camry HV, and 2009 – 2010 model year Venza vehicles may exhibit an abnormal noise from the front or rear of vehicle while driving over bumps. This condition may be caused by the incorrect orientation of the spring bumper(s).

MIL "ON" DTC P0741 (T-SB-0007-11)

Some 2009 – 2011 model year RAV4 vehicles equipped with the 2AR-FE engine and 4 speed automatic transaxle (2WD & 4WD) may exhibit a MIL ON condition with DTC P0741 – Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Performance (Shift Solenoid Valve DSL) stored.

Steering Column Rattle Noise (T-SB-0005-11)

Some 2009 – 2011 model year Venza vehicles may exhibit a rattle noise from the EPS (Electronic Power Steering) column when turning the steering wheel and/or when driving on rough surfaces.

Alternator Inoperative and/or Abnormal Noise (T-SB-0004-11)

Some 2009 – 2010 model year Corolla vehicles may exhibit a condition where the charging system warning light is “ON”, the alternator is inoperative, and/or there is an abnormal noise from the engine compartment. This may be caused by the pulley not being seated correctly. The pulley has been updated to correct this condition.

MIL "ON" DTC P0442 - Fuel Filler Tube Improvement (T-SB-0003-11)

Some 2003 – 2004 model year Tundra vehicles may experience a MIL “ON” condition with DTC P0442 (Evaporative Emission Control System Small Leak) due to an irregularity in the fuel filler tube sealing surface. An improved fuel filler tube has been developed to correct this condition.

Rattle Noise from Fuel Tank Protector (Lower Center) (T-SB-0002-11)

Some Avalon, Camry, and Solara vehicles may exhibit a rattle type noise coming from underneath the vehicle while driving. This may be caused by the lower center fuel tank protector contacting the exhaust pipe. An updated part has been released to address this concern.

Transaxle Rattle Noise between 25 - 35 MPH (T-SB-0001-11)

Some 2009 – 2011 model year RAV4 vehicles equipped with the 2AR-FE engine and 4 speed automatic transaxle (2WD & 4WD) may exhibit a rattle noise from the transaxle assembly between 25 – 35 MPH. The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been revised to address this condition.

Choppy Ride (Tundra D-Cab Short Bed) (T-SB-0369-10)

Some 2007 – 2010 Tundra vehicles may exhibit a body vibration when driving under certain road conditions. A newly designed cab mount has been developed to help improve this condition.

Uneven Rear Brake Pad Wear (T-SB-0366-10)

Some 2007 – 2011 Camry vehicles may exhibit uneven rear brake pad wear due to corrosion between the pad backing plate and mounting bracket. The outer pad may wear more at the top of the pad versus the bottom. The vehicle may also exhibit a grinding noise during braking due to metal-to-metal contact between the rotor and the pad backing plate.

6-Speed Manual Clutch Release Bearing Squeak or Rattle Noise (T-SB-0365-10)

Some 07-11 FJ Cruiser and 05-11 Tacoma manual transmission equipped FJ Cruiser and V6 Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a squeak or rattle noise from the transmission area when the clutch pedal is released. Changes have been made to the clutch system to eliminate this noise.

Abnormal Noise when Brake Pedal Released (T-SB-0363-10)

Some 2010 Prius and early produced 2011 Prius vehicles may exhibit an abnormal noise when the brake pedal is released. The noise is typically heard when the vehicle is stopped. The ABS Actuator Skid Control Electronic Control Unit (ECU) calibration software has been revised to eliminate this noise.

Rear Spring Harsh Ride (T-SB-0359-10)

Some customers of Tacoma 4x4 or PreRunner vehicles with Access or Double cabs may experience a harsh ride from the rear suspension while carrying heavy cargo in the bed and driving over bumps or uneven road surfaces. Updated rear spring assemblies and front and rear shocks are available to improve this condition.

Driver’s Seat Track Slide Lock Will Not Engage Due to Debris (S-SB-0035-10)

Some 2005 – 2010 model year Scion tC vehicles may exhibit a condition where the driver’s seat track slide lock will be inoperative after accessing the rear seat using the seat slide memory lever. This condition is caused from debris entering the seat track assembly and damaging the seat slide memory sub-assembly.

Courtesy Lamp Switch Abnormal Operation (T-SB-0343-10)

Some vehicles may exhibit an intermittent condition where the courtesy lamp (dome light) does not turn “ON” when the door is opened, due to the Courtesy Lamp Switch.

Rear Bumper Cover Deformed (T-SB-0334-10)

Some 2008 – 2011 Sequoia vehicles may exhibit a condition where the rear bumper cover is deformed around the cutout portion for the exhaust tailpipe. A new tailpipe assembly has been designed to correct this condition.

Back Door (Rear Hatch) Stay Improvement (T-SB-0322-10)

Some 2009 – 2010 model year Matrix vehicles may exhibit a condition where the back door (rear hatch) may not open fully in low ambient temperatures. The back door stays have been improved to correct this condition.

Intermittent Horn Operation (T-SB-0314-10)

Some 2005 – 2009 model year Avalon vehicles may exhibit an intermittent horn operation. In order to improve the horn ground circuit performance between the steering column and the vehicle chassis, an improved steering column assembly has been made available.

Rear Differential Housing Oil Baffle Growl/Whine Noise (T-SB-0297-10)

Some 2007 – 2010 Tundra vehicles may exhibit a growl or whine noise from the rear when the vehicle is in motion. Production changes have been made to prevent this noise.

Non-Linear Acceleration from a Stop (T-SB-0295-10)

Some 2010 – 2011 model year Sequoia vehicles with the 1UR-FE (4.6 L) engine may exhibit non-linear acceleration from a stop under certain conditions of low engine rpm with high engine load. The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been revised to address this condition.

Automatic Transaxle Fluid Leak from Missing Transaxle Case Plug (U760) (T-SB-0294-10)

Some 2009 model year Venza and 2010 model year Camry vehicles may display a transaxle fluid leak from a missing transaxle case plug on the upper right hand side of the transaxle case. Production improvements have been implemented to prevent this from occurring.

Window Rattle Noise (T-SB-0286-10)

Some 2004 – 2007 model year Sienna vehicles may exhibit a rattle/noise or inoperative windows due to loose or missing window regulator bolts. This condition can occur on both front doors as well as both sliding doors. New window regulator bolts are available to correct these conditions.

ECM Calibration: Enhancement to Shifting Performance (T-SB-0285-10)

Some 2010 Tundra vehicles may exhibit the following shifting conditions:
• Harsh shift on acceleration below 20 mph during the 2-1 downshift.
• Excessive lock-up operation at freeway speeds about 50 – 60 mph, sometimes referred to as “busy shifting”.
The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) calibration has been revised.

Headlamp Condensation (T-SB-0284-10)

Some 2010 model year Prius vehicles may exhibit excessive condensation or moisture on the interior of the headlamp(s).

Grinding Noise when Shifting into 3rd Gear (M/T) (T-SB-0282-10)

Some 2009 model year Corolla and Matrix vehicles equipped with the 2ZR-FE engine and C59 manual transaxle may exhibit a grinding noise/feeling when shifting into the 3rd gear position. The lock ball spring strength for the 3rd/4th gear shift fork shaft has been increased to reduce the stress on the 3rd gear synchronizer.

Trunk Lid Will Not Stay at the Fully Open Position (T-SB-0281-10)

Some 2009 – 2010 model year NAP (North American Production) Corolla vehicles not equipped with a rear deck lid spoiler may exhibit a condition where the trunk lid will not stay in the fully open position.

Non-Linear Acceleration from a Stop (T-SB-0273-10)

Some 2010 model year Tundra vehicles with the 1UR-FE (4.6 L) engine may exhibit non-linear acceleration from a stop under certain conditions of low engine rpm with high engine load. The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been revised to address this condition.

Choppy Ride(T-SB-0270-10)

Some 2007 – 2010 Tundra vehicles may exhibit a body vibration when driving under certain road conditions. A newly designed cab mount has been developed to improve this condition.

MIL "ON" DTC P0011, P0012, or P0016 (T-SB-0269-10)

Under certain conditions, 2005 –2007 model year Camry vehicles may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with DTC P0011, P0012, or P0016 stored in the Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM). In some cases, the cause of this DTC may be the VVT-I actuator.

Rear AC Vents Loose (T-SB-0253-10)

2008 – 2010 Highlander Some vehicles may exhibit a condition where the Rear Overhead A/C Vents (Air Outlet Register Sub-Assy) are loose or are difficult to adjust, especially in high ambient temperatures. The Rear Overhead A/C Vents have been revised to correct this condition. Use the procedure in this bulletin to replace the Rear Overhead A/C Vents.

Abnormal Sound from JBL Subwoofer (T-SB-0232-10)

2008 – 2010 Highlander, Highlander HV Some vehicles may exhibit a distortion noise from the JBL sub-woofer. An updated JBL amplifier is available to address this situation.

Heater Performance (T-SB-0231-10)

Some 2008 model year Sequoia and 2007 – 2008 model year Tundra vehicles may exhibit reduced cold-start heater warm-up performance in cold conditions. Transaxle Whine Noise (T-SB-0192-10)

Some 2006 – 2010 model year RAV4 vehicles equipped with the 5 speed automatic transaxle may exhibit a whine noise from the final drive gear assembly. This noise is usually noticeable between 20 MPH up to 65 MPH. Two engine mounts and the left front drive shaft damper have been revised to reduce the noise level heard by the customer. If further improvement is necessary, a honing process has been added to the final drive gear assembly to further reduce the noise concern.

2nd Row Seat Ottoman Inoperative (T-SB-0185-10)

Some 2011 Sienna vehicles may exhibit a condition where the 2nd row seat ottoman may become inoperative. The ottoman control cables have been updated for this condition.

Some 2010 model year Land Cruiser vehicles equipped with the Toyota Navigation System may exhibit a condition where navigation voice guidance or Bluetooth™ sound is intermittently inoperative. A special DVD map disc with software updates has been developed to remedy this condition.

Some 2005 – 2009 model year Sienna vehicles may exhibit an SRS lamp “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B0111 and/or B0116. An updated repair procedure is available to address this condition.

3rd Row Power Seat Will Not Return From Stowed Position Properly (T-SB-0161-10)

Some 2011 Sienna vehicles may exhibit a condition where the legs of the 3rd row power seat may overextend the strikers in the floor of the vehicle when moving the seat from the stowed position to the upright position. This can cause the power stow/latch function to become inoperative.

Rear Axle Bearing Abnormal Noise (T-SB-0151-10)

Some 2007 – 2010 model year Tundra vehicles may exhibit a howling or growling noise from the rear of the vehicle that increases with vehicle speed. Changes have been made to the rear axle bearing to correct this condition.

RH HVAC Vent Poor Fit (T-SB-0150-10)

Some 2009 model year Venza vehicles may exhibit a condition where the right hand HVAC vent has an uneven fit appearance where it meets the instrument panel. An improved passenger side register assembly is available to improve this condition.

Clicking Noise from Transfer Case (T-SB-0149-10)

Some 2010 model year 4WD Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a clicking or chirping noise from the transfer case assembly when the vehicle is in motion. Production changes have been made to eliminate this noise.

Immediately following a cold soak startup, some 2010 – 2011 Camry, 2009 – 2010 Highlander, 2009 – 2010 RAV4, 2009 – 2010 Venza model year vehicles equipped with the 1AR-FE and 2AR-FE engines may exhibit a brief knock/rattle noise from the engine compartment for approximately one second.

Rear Suspension Bolt Corrosion (Vibration While Driving) (T-SB-0144-10)

2008 – 2010 Sequoia under certain driving and road conditions, corrosion may build on the front bolts of the rear suspension member. This condition may result in vibration from the rear of the vehicle while driving. Newly designed fasteners for the forward mounting location are available to address this condition. The rearward fasteners are naturally shielded from possible corrosion due to the differing mounting locations and are not affected.

Steering On-Center Feel (T-SB-0140-10)

Some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the on-center steering feel on the 2009 – 2010 model year Corolla vehicles. A re-tuned Power Steering Computer Assembly has been developed to provide an alternative steering feel for these customers.

Transmission Fluid or Gear Oil Seepage from Transfer Case Vent (AWD) (T-SB-0138-10)

Some 2004 – 2009 model year Highlander, 2001 – 2005 model year RAV4, and 2004 – 2010 model year Sienna AWD (4WD) vehicles may display a transmission fluid or gear oil seepage from a vent on the right side of the transfer case. The seepage is from the transfer RH (right-hand) bearing retainer No. 2 oil seal. Production improvements have been implemented to prevent this condition from occurring.

Parking Brake Cable Frozen (S-SB-0015-10)

Some 2008 Scion xB may exhibit a frozen or stuck parking brake after sitting for long periods of time in cold weather. Newly design cable assemblies are available to reduce the potential for this condition to occur.

Rear Window Water Leak (T-SB-0134-10)

Some 2005 – 2010 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a condition where the interior carpet has become wet or water is found in the interior due to water draining into the cabin from the rear window. This can occur in heavy rain or a car wash if the rear window molding seal is covering the rear cab drain vents, allowing water to enter the vehicle.

Some 2008 – 2009 model year Scion xB vehicles may exhibit an intermittent condition where multiple Malfunction Indicator Lights (MIL) remain illuminated after start up, and the power steering system will enter the fail safe mode. The vehicle may return to normal after cycling the key.

Some 2001 – 2007 model year Sequoia vehicles may experience a condition where the back door power window of the vehicle is inoperative/stuck in the closed position.

HVAC Control Panel Illumination Dim (T-SB-0113-10)

Some 2003 – 2009 4Runner vehicles may exhibit a condition where the HVAC control panel illumination is dim, flickering, or intermittently inoperative. A newly designed light bulb has been made available to resolve this concern.

Washer Hose Loose(T-SB-0108-10)

Some 2009 – 2010 Corolla vehicles may exhibit a rattle noise coming from the engine room area. The noise may be caused by the washer hose hitting the top of the engine valve cover. In some cases, no noise is heard, but the hose is found loose during routine service. An improved tape has been developed to correct this condition.

Instrument Panel Rattle Below Glove Box (T-SB-0106-10)

Some 2005 – 2009 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit an instrument panel rattle or tick noise below the glove box area. The faint noise is most evident when accelerating slowly between the 1000 – 1600 RPM range. The rattle has been found to be coming from a wire harness cover coming into contact with the HVAC bracket.

Remote Engine Starter (RES) ECU Parasitic Draw (T-SB-0103-10)

Some vehicles equipped with a Remote Engine Starter (RES) may exhibit a discharged battery condition after short term storage due to parasitic draw. Use the procedure in this TSB to assist with the diagnosis of excessive parasitic battery draw to correctly identify if the Remote Engine Starter (RES) ECU is the cause.

Rear Brake Squeak (T-SB-0098-10)

Some 2010 Prius vehicles may experience rear brake squeak when backing up or moving forward during the first few brake applications when the brakes are cold. An updated rear brake shim kit is available to reduce the likelihood of this condition occurring.

Scion xD MIL "ON" DTC P0713 (U341E) (S-SB-0011-10)

Some 2010 model year Scion xD vehicles equipped with the U341E automatic transaxle may exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0713 (Transaxle Fluid Temperature Sensor “A” High Input) stored in the ECM. The transaxle wire harness has been revised.

Sliding Door Rattle While Driving(T-SB-0094-10)

Some Sienna vehicles may exhibit a growling, ticking, clunking, or rattling noise near or around the left and/or right-hand sliding door when driving on rough road surfaces. Noise generated by contact between the striker plate and lock assembly on 2004 – 2006 model year Sienna vehicles has been reduced by adding a resin coating to the sliding door striker plate and sliding door lock assembly. The updated part applies to both manual and power sliding doors. Noise generated by contact between the male and female slide door stoppers on 2004 – 2010 model year Sienna vehicles has been reduced by redesigning the male stopper (foam type material was added to the male stopper). The updated part applies to both manual and power sliding doors.

Transmission Fluid Leak through Driveshaft Yoke(T-SB-0088-10)

Some 2009 – 2010 model year 2WD Tacoma vehicles may display a small transmission fluid leak through the driveshaft (propeller shaft) slip yoke plug in the center of the yoke. Manufacturing process changes were implemented at the supplier to reduce the possibility of this condition. Replacement of the driveshaft will correct this condition.

Instrument Panel Rattle Near Glove Box(T-SB-0087-10)

Some 2005 – 2010 Tacoma vehicles may exhibit an instrument panel rattle or buzz noise coming from above the glove box.

Abnormal Radio Faceplate Operation(T-SB-0085-10)

2007 – 2009 Camry, 2008 – 2009 Highlander, 2006 – 2010 RAV4 Some of these vehicles may demonstrate one or more of the following intermittent radio condition(s): scrambled, unreadable or blank display; no volume control; or turning ON/OFF by itself. Rear Suspension "Squawk" Noise (T-SB-0082-10)

Some 2009 – 2010 Venza vehicles may exhibit a “squawk/groan” noise from the rear suspension when traveling over bumps, accelerating from a stop, and/or during slow rolling stops. The abnormal noise may be caused by rear coil spring contact with the lower strut seat due to a displaced or damaged rear coil spring lower insulator. An updated rear coil spring lower insulator is available for this condition.

Steering Column "Popping" Noise (T-SB-0076-10)

High Beam/DRL Bulb Inoperative (T-SB-0044-10)

On some 2008-2010 Avalon vehicles, the High Beam/DRL bulb may become inoperative or shatter. A newly designed High Beam/DRL housing assembly (including the applicable bulb) is available in the event this condition has occurred.
This condition does not apply to the low beam bulb which functions independently of the High Beam/DRL bulb.

6 Speed Manual Transmission Clutch Difficult Engaging (T-SB-0385-09)

Some customers of manual transmission equipped, V6 FJ Cruiser and Tacoma vehicles may experience a slipping feeling in all forward gears and reverse. The center section of the clutch disk may have separated from the friction material section of the clutch disk. Installation of a new clutch disk and clutch cover (pressure plate) is required to repair the vehicle.

2010 model year Prius (T-SB-0387-09)

Some 2010 model year Prius vehicles may have an A/C control panel electronic display that is blurry, cloudy, or difficult to read. An improved A/C control panel has been made available to improve this condition.

2009 & 2010 RAV4 (T-SB-0388-09)

Some RAV4 vehicles with Automatic Air Conditioning systems may exhibit a condition where the HVAC system intermittently blows warm air from the vents with the A/C on. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1479 (Flow Sensor Circuit) may be stored in the A/C system as either a Current or History DTC. A malfunctioning A/C compressor flow sensor may cause this condition.

2005 -- 2009 Avalon (T-SB-0389-09)

Some 2005 & 2009 model year Avalon vehicles may exhibit a ticking noise from the steering wheel while driving slowly and turning left or right.Confirm there is a ticking noise by driving the vehicle slowly and turning the steering wheel left or right. If a ticking noise can be heard or felt from the steering wheel when turning left or right, replace the steering column assembly.

Charging System Warning Light "ON" (T-SB-0375-09)

Some 2009 model year RAV4 vehicles may exhibit a condition where the charging system warning light is ON. This condition may be caused by a malfunction in the alternator pulley clutch. The alternator pulley clutch has been updated to correct this condition. Use the following procedure to diagnose and repair the alternator pulley clutch.

TOMTOM Navigation Rebooting During Operation(T-SB-0351-09)

Some 2008 and 2009 model year 4Runner vehicles equipped with a TOMTOM Portable Navigation Device (PND) may exhibit a condition where the PND reboots during operation. An updated SD card has been developed to address this condition.

Air Injection Pump With Water Intrusion (T-SB-0350-09)

Some 2010 model year Tundra vehicles built in the Texas plant may exhibit a MIL ON condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2440, P2441, P2442, P2443, P2446, and/or P2447. This concern may be caused by water intrusion into the air injection pump assembly.

Intermittent No Crank/No Start (T-SB-0348-09)

Some 2008 & 2009 Highlander, 2009 & 2010 Matrix, and 2006 & 2010 RAV4 vehicles may intermittently exhibit a no crank condition. The engine can usually be started after moving the shift lever to the Neutral position or by cycling the shift lever in and out of the Park position. A revised neutral start switch assembly is available to address this condition.

Brief Engine Knock/Rattle Noise at Cold Startup (S-SB-0046-09)

Immediately following a cold soak startup, some 2008 & 2009 model year Scion xD vehicles may exhibit a brief knock/rattle noise from the engine compartment for approximately one second.

Excessive Sulfur Odor (T-SB-0346-09)

Some customers may complain of excessive sulfur odor on 2006 & 2009 model year 4Runner vehicles equipped with the 1GR-FE engine under the following conditions: Stop and go driving and Heavy acceleration. In order to reduce the sulfur odor, new catalytic converter assemblies have been made available.

4WD Towing Precaution (T-SB-0381-09)

2009 & 2010 Matrix, 2006 & 2010 RAV4, 2009 & 2010 Venza The only acceptable towing method for vehicles equipped with an Active Torque Control 4WD system is to have all four wheels off the ground. Flat towing or towing where only the front or rear wheels are supported may damage the all-wheel drive system.
